The foundation of Orion Yachts Building Company goes back to the early 90’s. Two naval architects had been working for shipyards at the west Black Sea coast and in Istanbul. They decided to use their technical experience for their own company and combine methods of traditional yacht building with modern technologies. The company has been established in 1999, with another friend joining. Every project since the establishment is a prove of quality. Orion Yachts raise the own manpower and train them to control at every single stage of production very strictly. Transfer of information to the project or yacht owners is perfect, complete, on time and professional. Today Orion Yachts consists of their own marine carpentry, mechanic, hardware, electrics and painting departments. Every team is specialised in their fields about yacht building or refit. All teams of shopfloor departments are regularly trained and updated to improve their skills. They keep up with the latest developments in related technologies so that they are able to produce whole components and do all necessary works themselves on spot, which avoids mistakes and saves a lot of time with full control in the boat building process. Orion Yachts, builds boats to their own designs as well as to well known British, Dutch and Italian designers’ hull and interior designs, who they cooperate with, respecting the boat owners whishes. Orion Yachts produce; PEA series classical wooden sailing yachts, GHOST series composit super sailing or motor yachts and DALOS series wooden or composite motor yachts. Modern production styles, superior finishing and the quality also found in details are included as a standard in all series. A large range of yachts, including the PEA series - Pea 22, Pea 32, Pea 60, Pea 72, Dalos series - Dalos 32, Dalos 40, Dalos 43 – AURAI 17 exporting project to USA and extreme projects like a 45 mts Scooner have been finished and other projects like GHOST 78 and new versions of the Dalos series are under production. . Besides designing, building, dressing and exporting composite, GRP or wooden boats, Orion Yachts is also well known as wood work company of many marinas located between Marmaris and Antalya. A great number of boats built in different places at different times have been renovated and refitted to their original by Orion Yachts. Big refits which have a large content and can be considered as real projects are carried out and finished by Orion Yachts sensitively. Orion Yachts has been restructured in 2008.Equity capital has increased with new partnership of fresh shareholders,operation system renewed and has been consolidated according to new layout of 3500 sqm at new boatyard. Consequently, Yacht Building became the core industry in OrionYachts’ strategic journey. Manufacturing high quality serial and custom yachts had posted consistent, solid progress over the years and now ,a new boatyard with skilled people will provide the opportunity to lead the wooden and composite yacht building industry consolidation rather than follow it. As another result of restructuring, Orion Yachts started to produce and sell in another segment called ZetaMarin, mari ne equipment which they had been producing and using in their own boats.
