The formation of the Orion Yachts Boat Building Company goes back to the early 90s. Two naval architects had been working extensively for  shipyards in Istanbul and on the West coast of the Black Sea. They decided the time had come to use their technical experience to form their own company with the goal of combining the methods of traditional yacht building with the modern technologies which were becoming available. As a result the company, with another associate, was established in 1999. Every project since the creation has proven the quality of the yard. Orion Yachts is training their dedicated workforce themselves to ensure a strict quality control at every stage of production.

The transfer of informations between owners and yard regarding a project is permanent, accurate and professional. Today Orion Yachts in-house services are: Marine carpentry,composite, engineering, hardware, electronics and painting departments all driven by a in house design team able to provide the necessary information to gain on efficacity and cost efficience. Every team are focused on their specific field eather it would be during a refit or new-build project.

All the teams of the work shop departments are continually trained to keep them up to date with new technological requirements, then they are able to produce the best components on site, avoiding any possibility of mistakes and therefore saving time and ensuring full control of the building process.

Orion Yachts generally build boats on their own design, but also on those from well established British, Dutch, and Italian designers, Orion yachts in that way is always proud to bring their knowhow to foreign designers and fulfil the requirements from commitioners and boat owners .

Orion Yachts regular production is: Semi Custom Line Dalos series motorboat up to 60 feet and GHOST series motoryacht up to 150 feet, and Custom line PEA series classic wooden sailing yacht. Modern production methods, superior finish and quality in details are found as standard in all the series.

A large number of yachts have been successfully completed including the GHOST 78 , PEA 22, 32, 60, 72; Dalos 32, 40, 43, 52 ; Aurai 17, exported to the USA, also a 45metre schooner. Other projects under construction include the Ghost and new versions of the Dalos series.

Besides designing, and  manufacturing composite, GRP or wooden boats, Orion Yachts is also well-known as a marine carpentry company by many marinas located between Marmaris to Antalya. Many boats of all ages built in many different yards both abroad and in Turkey found their home at Orion and have been renovated and refitted to bring them back to their original pristine condition. Large scale restoration of historic vessels have been sensitively carried out by Orion Yachts. 

Orion Yachts was restructured in 2008. The Operations system has been renewed and consolidated with the set up of the new 3500sq.m boatyard including an 700 sqm closed area. Consequently, if it had to be prooven, yacht building has become the core industry in Orion Yachts journey. Manufacturing both high quality production and custom yachts, has a result, pushed the continuous company expansion over the years; the new facilities and dedicated in-house workforce will give us in the future the necessary tools to continue to be at the forefront of the wooden and composite yacht building industry in Turkey.
